Book cover Diagnosis and Management of Breast Tumors

Abstract

Proliferative breast lesions range from benign fibrocystic changes or “low risk” lesions that warrant no further intervention, to in situ malignancy, the treatment of which overlaps that for invasive carcinomas. Also included in this category are “high risk” lesions in between, for which there are controversies regarding management. Many of these entities, along with cases demonstrating radiology-pathology correlation essential in their diagnoses, are discussed in this chapter, and some of the controversies in management are also presented.
