Diagnosis and Management of Breast Tumors

Abstract

Papillary lesions are among the most debated tumors in the breast, from work up, to histologic diagnosis, to management. The spectrum of papillary lesions includes benign masses, high risk disease, in situ and invasive carcinoma. These tumors are often the etiology of spontaneous nipple discharge, and are best diagnosed with a multimodality imaging approach.Exicision may be recommended based on clinical symptoms and / or presence of associated atypical or malignant cells. Some classic imaging findings with pathology proven cases are shown.
