Abstract

The seventh cranial nerve, also known as the facial nerve (CN VII), arises from the inferior pons just in front of the vestibulocochlear nerve, reaching straight out to the internal auditory canal. Its anatomical course, function, pathology and major clinical syndromes are illustrated for quick reference.
