Abstract
This article is devoted to the International Mathematical Tournament of Towns, a high-level contest for high school students. We will tell you how this contest appeared, what are its aims, features and distinctions from other olympiads, what towns and countries participate in it and how one can take part in this contest. A significant part of the article is devoted to examples of problems from the Tournament of Towns, and to solutions of some of these problems
Why do we conduct the Tournament of Towns? Because we want everything to be well in our house. And our house is the whole world.
N.N. Konstantinov
When a new problem is invented, what should one do? Propose it at an olympiad or throw is out? I think that the same question faces a composer who has created a new melody: he offers it to people if he believes that it will be a gift to them.
