Network Embeddedness

Abstract

Ratajczak-Mrozek provides a comprehensive review of studies in the field of the network theory of internationalization . The chapter starts with the informative description of the network model of internationalization and the revised Uppsala model 2009. Next it describes the role of different types of relationships and especially inward connections and domestic relationships in internationalization. Finally Ratajczak-Mrozek systematizes main areas of research in the network theory of internationalization . These areas of research include the role of knowledge, other resources and opportunities created through relationships in the internationalization, the influence of relationships (or knowledge, resources, opportunities) on a company’s entry into a foreign market and the general process of internationalization, the speed of internationalization and the company’s performance in the internationalization process .
