Network Embeddedness

Abstract

Ratajczak-Mrozek systematizes the concepts of relationships and embeddedness, taking a new approach to internationalization. The chapter explores the impact of embeddedness in domestic and foreign relationships on a company’s performance , presents the main assumptions and the aim of the book. Ratajczak-Mrozek indicates how relationships and embeddedness affect companies’ activity, particular outcomes, and performance, with special emphasis on outcomes in the context of foreign activity and internationalization. The author questions the validity of the distinction between domestic and foreign activity of companies and demonstrates that in the B2B market, there are actually no exclusively domestic companies which are not directly or indirectly connected with foreign entities.
