Abstract
Coronary embolization is an uncommon procedure. The indications for this procedure are myriad and include emergent and elective settings. The most common scenario is coronary perforation during percutaneous intervention, when embolization to prevent or ameliorate tamponade can be lifesaving. Other scenarios include coronary fistulae, coronary aneurysms, and internal mammary graft side branches. Therefore, it is essential that every coronary operator has a basic understanding of the indications, equipment, techniques, and complications related to coronary embolization.
