Abstract

Law is not just for lawyers. Physicians too should be familiar with the legal principles relevant for their profession, especially because every medical treatment bears risks of potential complications and treatment errors. Given the fact that even the best physicians cannot protect themselves from liability processes, the matter of the physician’s liability is of great importance for all physicians, medical students, and other health care workers. This chapter provides an overview of the regulatory requirements concerning cardiovascular interventionalists’ treatment and physicians’ treatment in general.
