Network meta-analysis assesses direct and indirect relationships across a network of predictor and outcome variables. Three previously published meta-analyses assessing the effect of various predictors on the frequency of iatrogenic hospital admissions were re-analyzed separately and in combination. Five different networks were produced by the Konstanz Information Miner (Knime). One network provided a much better fit for the data than the other.
