Italy in International Relations

Abstract

Italy in International Relations affirms that Italy is different but not divergent from other Western European democracies in terms of its attitude and behaviour on the international scene. The swinging nature of Italian foreign policy is not the result of an irrational attitude of the Italians, but rather confirms the particular significance that alliances have for the country. Not only do they have to guarantee the security and integration of the country within the international community but also have to contribute to its civil and political development.
