Abstract

The goal of this chapter is to discuss the theory of some special linear maps of \(\mathbb{R}^{2}\) (of the plane) and to bring into light the connection between various problems in plane geometry and the theory of square matrices of order 2.

Everyone wants to teach and nobody to learn. Niels Abel (1802–1829)
