Abstract

Physico-chemical conditions for ultrabasic-basic evolution of the mantle magmas and diamond-producing melts of the upper mantle are created due to two sequential peritectic interaction: (1) the clinopyroxene-formed reaction of orthopyroxene and ultrabasic melt (orthopyroxene loss) and (2) the garnet-formed reaction of olivine with jadeite component of fractionating ultrabasic melt (olivine loss).
