Abstract

One of the most important keystones of successful shoulder arthroscopy is portal placement. A sufficient number of arthroscopic portals must be opened in the correct location to be compatible with the underlying pathology. The way to achieve this is to have a good knowledge of the anatomic structures and to make a thorough evaluation of the pathology before the intervention. In both intra-articular and subacromial region interventions, a sufficient number of portals opened in the correct locations facilitate visualisation and instrument management.
