Abstract

In this paper, the authors have investigated study on a highly nonlinear chemical process where linear controllers fall short to give satisfactory performance. To deal with dynamics of such non-linear systems can be represented by Multiple local Linear Models and for each Model Multiple linear and adaptive controllers has been designed. The control signal to the plant has calculated as a weighted sum of outputs from these Multiple local Controllers based on Gain Scheduling Technique. To construct the local controllers PID and Self Tuning Regulators (RST) has been used and the effectiveness of the control methodology has demonstrated for CSTR process in MATLAB Simulink environment.
