Abstract
An 8-year-old Syrian girl came to our department with fever and severe skin lesions over her legs. The initial diagnoses were post-traumatic burns due to explosives, complicated by sepsis and unsuccessful initial management in Syria. It became apparent that the true diagnosis was a rare genetic disease, leukocyte adhesion defect (LAD) type I complicated by a severe skin disease pyoderma gangrenosum. Bone marrow transplantation was arranged in an appropriate centre.
