Abstract

Avascular necrosis of the lunate (Kienbock’s disease) is a rare problem, affecting a very small portion of the population. Changes in the blood flow and anatomical variations are blamed for the problem. It was classified by Lichtman. Treatment is based on classification and varies from splinting to osteotomy.
