Abstract
Unfortunately, a few aging astronomers will find themselves in a wheelchair. Bummer! But this shouldn’t stop anyone’s participation in observing the stars. It just takes a little adaptation, cleverness, and a few trade-offs. Keep in mind, the seated position is still preferable to standing when viewing through a telescope. The only difference is this chair has wheels, and for whatever reason, the observer can’t leave it.
Sometimes I wonder if I’m as famous for my wheelchair and disabilities as I am for my discoveries.
