Abstract

Ranulfo followed the legislative maneuvering and anti-immigrant news, but he didn’t let it get him down. When I went on a rant about these racist nut-jobs, he told me, “People born here like you get upset with these critics, but for an immigrant like me, it’s just something you ignore. It’s just another barrier, something that makes you stronger, like a turtle ’s shell.”
