Abstract

Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR), amongst all rheumatic diseases, is characterized by a distinctive diurnal variation in symptoms. This is regulated both by endogenous cortisol and by cytokines so has implications for the dosing of exogenous steroids. A single morning dose of corticosteroid is therefore recommended.
