Abstract
The Russian Federation ensures their national security by using a neorealist paradigm. Russia has been building a new security buffer by perpetuating frozen conflicts along its border. It works to economically and politically weaken and divide Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia to prevent these countries from straying far from the eastern orbit. The Kremlin has masqueraded as peace brokers through ineffective peace talks. Russia will continue to protect its national security interests by destabilizing its border countries through political and military interference.
