Abstract
This comparative analysis is based on the national reports submitted from the nine legal systems that took part in this project. The basis for these reports was a questionnaire that included a separate section on ‘special sanctions applicable to politicians’. It should be noted that certain national characteristics are largely not accounted for (e.g., the question of who is considered a political decision-maker), but they are instead dealt with in other parts of this publication. Rather, I will try to give an overall picture of the special sanctions that are applicable in the different national systems and point out some similarities and differences.
