Abstract
In this chapter we shall discuss the approach to several common ontological problems in primary care: otalgia, otorrhoea, tympanic membrane perforations, hearing loss, vertigo and tinnitus.
We deal with the pathologies of the middle ear that can cause discharge, including otitis media, chronic otitis media, fractures of the temporal bone and granulations of the tympanic membrane.
History taking and ontological examination are emphasized and special attention is given to vertigo, dizziness and disequilibrium.
