Abstract

Robotic-assisted surgery is an evolution of minimally invasive surgery. The da Vinci Surgical System is the leading robotic platform and has several iterations. We will focus on the two newest platforms which are the Si and Xi systems. In this chapter, we will review the components of the robotic surgery platform, including the surgeon console, patient cart, and vision cart. Additionally, we will examine the fundamentals as well as the benefits of the robotic endoscopes, trocars, and instruments.

For more details on the Si and Xi platforms training modules at https://www.davincisurgerycommunity.com can be reviewed, login required.
