Tuberculosis of the Central Nervous System

Abstract

Intraventricular tuberculoma represents a rare location of central nervous system tuberculosis TB. It is usually associated with systemic involvement, multiple cerebral tuberculomas, and/or meningitis. However, solitary intraventricular tuberculoma is extremely rare. Clinical and radiologic manifestations of this affection are nonspecific and might be misdiagnosed as other infectious or tumoral brain lesions, especially in the absence of other brain or systemic TB lesions. The confirmation is only made by histopathological study of the lesion. The treatment of choice of intraventricular tuberculoma remains conservative and provides a good control of the disease in most cases.
