Abstract
This chapter discusses all the research findings; highlights their implications for research and practice; makes recommendations for future researchers on social movements, adult educators, and adult education; explains limitations of the study; and offers suggestions for future research. The research reaffirms that adult education has a significant function in social movements to cause a transformation in the followers, which then leads to wider social change. It concludes that the Gülen Movement is a religious social movement that employs adult education through the sohbets attended by businessmen who eventually experience transformations in their lives and in turn at societal level. Furthermore, a second conclusion based on the findings is that the Gülen Movement employs a significantly different form of adult education that is not common in social movements.
