Abstract
This chapter sets the goal of understanding nuclear power emergencies and their management process and takes a closer look at what disaster and emergency management processes generally constitute. Second, it extends the understanding of the differences and similarities between natural disaster and emergency management and nuclear power-induced disaster management. Third, it discusses radiological emergency response . Fourth, it discusses the four rigorous steps involved in the radiological emergency response, including projection of plume path dispersion , protective action recommendation (PAR), protective action decisions (PADs), and evacuation .
