Abstract

The paper focuses on the utilization of RDS-TMC channel in a more efficient way to carry more traffic information. This approach is called TurboTMC is based on ALERT-C and ALERT-Plus protocols. The paper outlines the idea of the service and further discusses the implementation issues with location table and message prioritization and practical benefits. The TurboTMC is media independent, so it can be used with other media like RDS 2.0 or DAB.
