Abstract
This article presents selected issues of cooperation between the VHF 150 MHz radio communication system and the GSM-R system. Both of them will be used in Polish railways. Particular attention was paid to issues associated with linking RADIOSTOP emergency signals of the VHF 150 MHz radio communication system and the REC (Railway Emergency Call) of the GSM-R system, as well as eREC (enhanced Railway Emergency Call) for the GSM-R standard. The RADIOSTOP railway emergency signals of the VHF 150 MHz radio communication networks were analysed. The REC emergency connection in the GSM-R system was characterised. Followed by a discussion of technical problems associated with generating emergency signals in the period of system migration. In addition to the problems associated with the technical aspect of connecting the two alarm signals, the issues arising from their radio coverage were also analysed.
