Controlled Reproduction of Wild Eurasian Perch

Abstract

In this chapter the brief and concise information on the final oocyte maturation process in Eurasian perch are given which allows to understand the possible hatchery-related factors determining egg quality. Moreover, specific cases and possible reasons of the disruption of final oocyte maturation are described and illustrated. The chapter is supplemented by a number of detailed and highly practical advices on the methods usually applied during a controlled reproduction operation.
