A Leaky Wave Antenna Based on SIW Technology for Ka Band Applications

Abstract

The design of an antenna based on Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) has been realized in this paper. The structure consists of an array of slot antenna designed to operate in Ka 17,3 à 21.2 GHz band applications. The structure of SIW is composed of two rows of cylinders between metal plates; it can be easily produced by the standard method PCB “circuit” or LTCC method. The direction of the main lobe of the antenna radiation pattern can be steered by changing the frequency in the band from backward direction to forward direction.
