Abstract
The effect of the pre-aging heattreatment on microstructures, the hardness, tensile strength and creep properties of Inconel 740H ha been investigated. The carbides precipitated along the grain boundaries, and γ′-Ni3(Al,Ti) was suppressed during the pre-aging at 850°C-1010°C. As the pre-aging temperature increased, the hardness and tensile strength decreased. The material with 11% strain and normal heattreatment showed shorter creep life than the non-strained one, the pre-aging heattreatment before the cold working and final aging restored the creep properties.
