Abstract
From the onset of civilization, human societies were concerned about the maintenance of their race. The International Committee for Monitoring Assisted Reproductive Technology (ICMART) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2009 revised its glossary to define infertility as a disease of the reproductive system where a couple is unable to achieve a clinical pregnancy after at least 12 months of frequent sexual intercourse, without the use of any contraceptive method (Zegers-Hochschild et al. 2009).
