Abstract

This chapter focuses on the covenantal promises of God that required that his “son” be disciplined with the “rod.” It focuses on the use of familial language in the covenants with Moses and David. The book of Proverbs provides the canonical context for understanding how familial relationships should function, including the discipline of a fool.
