Abstract
In this book, I have elaborated what I have called Taylorean social theory. As such, it offers a theoretical understanding of the social processes and social agents involved in Western secularization. Its sources are Taylor’s views on philosophical anthropology and on the method of the social sciences, on the one hand, and other sociological sources as those used by Taylor himself in his meta-narrative as well as the work of other sociologists among which the more important is that by Margaret Archer.
