Abstract
Generally, capacity development is considered either as an approach and/or a project or an initiative to achieve development results on long-term objectives and promote development in a systematic and substantial manner. As an approach, it focusses on achievement of internationally agreed development goals such as SMGs and MDGs and as a project or initiative it focusses on filling the gap that has been identified for action by one or more development agencies. They usually involve interventions such as training, education or organizational development, but these are not sufficient enough to qualify them as development.
