Abstract
Attention is indispensable to school performance and daily life. However, almost 50% of the time we are awake, our mind is wandering. We are not 100% focused on what we are doing in each moment. This chapter focuses on translational work of mindfulness meditation in cognitive and learning ability, as well as in education outcomes. I will take several core cognitive capacities, including attention, conflict resolution , creativity , school test scores, and learning ability, as examples to demonstrate how mindfulness affects each of these domains and its applications in education .
