Abstract

Experiments were carried out to understand the flow field development from a cluster linear plug nozzle. The flow field was studied with the internal nozzle operating at both overexpanded and underexpanded condition in the absence and presence of freestream flow. For all the conditions tested, jets from each of the cluster module seem to interact with each other depending on the module flow expansion condition resulting in a complex three-dimensional flow field development. These three-dimensional flow features were studied using static pressure measurements on the plug and surface oil flow visualization.
