Abstract
Binge eating disorder (BED), a diagnosis new to the Feeding and Eating Disorders chapter in DSM-5 and characterized by binge eating behavior and emotional and functional consequences of the behavior, is discussed in this case. Common presentations and principles of assessment and management are reviewed. Updates in the diagnosis of BED in DSM-5 are discussed.
