Abstract

This chapter deals with governance conventions and protocols that have been practised over years and are generally recognized and adopted in practice. Summarized into the generally practised governance protocols (GPGPs), they are abstracted conventions, rules and principles in personnel management and organization architecture. There is complexity in them while simplicity can be achieved with their help, combining complexity and simplicity and demonstrating simple complexity or complex simplicity. They signify one of the superlative cases in organization design and architecture, as well as in staff appointment and assignment including promotion, transfer and demotion. The chapter then introduces and deliberates on the two major principles in the GPGPs that are parity and equivalence, and allegory versus literality, while parity in ranks serves as a gauge. These principles enable transitions and circular transitions between allegory and literality in the name of equivalence. Lastly, controversies in practising GPGPs are discussed with real world cases that can look like fantasies.
