Abstract
The fact that research necessarily contains innovative and original ideas, invariably means that the ideas should be publishable. Indeed, publication, in an appropriate peer-reviewed scientific conference or journal, is the ultimate proof of the validity of your work. Therefore, the step from doing research to publishing is inescapable. The only time that one might not consider publishing is when there are intellectual property (IP) or other classified restrictions on your work. However, such restrictions usually hold for a finite time window, e.g., until a provisional patent is received. In such a case, publication is still ultimately of great importance.
