Abstract

Clinically, dilated pore of Winer presents a solitary lesion, located on the face. It is more frequent in women. The clinical appearance of this lesion is that of a giant comedo, containing blackish keratin

Histopathologically, dilated pore of Winer appears as a cystic, symmetrical, and well-circumscribed lesion and is composed of one or more dilated follicular infundibula which contain basophilic and orthokeratotic keratin. The cyst wall consists of infundibular epithelium with a well-developed granular layer

Most likely the dilated pore of Winer is the result of epithelial induction by the scar tissue surrounding an infundibular cyst, which produces the proliferation of rete ridges

Dilated pore is a benign cystic lesion. Usually, the lesion does not require treatment, except for cosmetic reasons
