Abstract
Sustainable livelihood approach to poverty reduction has become a prime concern worldwide mainly in the developing and third world countries where livelihood is largely dependent on the output from traditionally practicing farming. Mizoram state has agrarian economy where about 37 % people live under poverty and 17 % people live under chronic poverty. In this chapter, we defined sustainable livelihood approach and livelihood capitals and implied them in this study. It also discusses objectives, methodology, and literature review.
