Abstract

An organic diphenylacetic acid (DPA) single crystal was synthesized and grown by the slow evaporation technique. Formation of the crystalline compound was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction study. The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system. The load dependent parameters of the grown crystal were studied by Vicker’s microhardness technique. The four independent tensor coefficients of dielectric permittivity were found to be ε11 = 29.92, ε22 = 28.74, ε33 = 27.38 and ε13 = 0.81 from the dielectric measurement.
