Abstract

The present paper is devoted to description of structural transformations of solids under dynamic loading. The interest to this issue is stipulated by the intensive development of experimental technique in the field of high-speed deformation. The model is based on mechanics of two-component medium with nonlinear interaction force providing several stable equilibriums for the crystalline lattices. Their relative displacement performs the role of latent degree of freedom, responsible for structural transformations. The main aim of this work is to reveal the process of energy transfer from macro-level to internal structure and to determine the necessary conditions for its initialization. The method of investigation is based onĀ  a deep analogy between continuous model and its discrete representation. The analytical results are compared with the numerical calculations arranged by finite difference method.
