Abstract

Health technology is the fastest growing high technology field in Finland. However, developing new products, getting international or finding new markets can be challenging in the highly regulated and rapidly changing healthcare environment. This paper presents issues in healthcare as a business environment. A financial analysis was conducted to get an overview about the current stage of Finnish health technology industry. A survey was also conducted in order to find out the challenges Finnish health technology companies are facing. The preliminary results of this financial analysis and survey are reported and then discussed.
