Abstract
This chapter provides a brief overview of some of the main theoretical frameworks as well as empirical evidence that currently exist in developmental and life-course criminology. Discussion is also devoted toward the implications of these theoretical frameworks and the related empirical research for crime prevention, notably early life-course prevention programs such as family parent training and nurse-home visitation programs. The chapter concludes with offering directions for future developmental and life-course research and theorizing.
