Abstract

Duplication cysts can be either cystic or tubular and can involve the entire gastrointestinal tract. Cystic duplications are most common. The presentation is variable and dependent on location. Ectopic tissue, most commonly gastric, can cause bleeding. The surgical goal is to completely excise the cyst while leaving as much native tissue intact, which can be challenging for long tubular duplications. Here we provide a brief framework to the approach of this often challenging condition.
