Abstract

Eczematous eruptions are very common in children. Atopic dermatitis affects 10–20 % of children in several industrialized countries and is increasing in prevalence in many parts of the world. This chapter outlines the evaluation and evidenced-based treatment of atopic dermatitis as well as other common eczematous conditions including: pityriasis alba, contact dermatitis, juvenile plantar dermatosis, nummular dermatitis, lichen striatus, lichen simplex chronicus, and seborrheic dermatitis.
