Thyroid Nodule Biopsy
Thyroid nodule biopsy for cytology examination is the most accurate method of thyroid nodule assessment. Fine-needle aspiration (FNA) of the thyroid nodules along with the ultrasonographic characteristics assists the physician to determine which nodules should be followed over time and which lesions should be treated with surgical resection. The goal of this chapter is to review the indications, technique, and complications of thyroid nodule biopsy.
