Abstract

As shown in Chaps. 58, the localized modes influence essentially the linear optics of spiral photonic crystals and photonic crystals in general, which occur at frequencies in and near the stop band. The corresponding enhancement phenomena have also been studied in conventional photonic crystals [10,11,12,13,14].
